Help us create some green space at the Portola Middle School campus!

Go Portola and the Portola PTSA are creating a green oasis in the middle of this black-top campus. We will be holding a work day on Saturday, September 29, from 2-5 pm, digging holes, building boxes, and doing some planting, and we could use your help!

How you can participate:

• Show up! There are many jobs to be done – from putting together boxes to moving dirt, so everyone is welcome. If possible, bring shovels, trowels, etc., but we will also have some gardening tools on site.

• If you have some carpentry skills and can bring some tools, please let Tim know.

• Have some large (> 2 gallon) planters, watering cans, or other gardening supplies lying around the yard? Donate them to the project – we will fill as many planters as we can and distribute them around the campus. Please bring donated supplies to the work day, or contact Nerissa.

• Donate! We are keeping costs low by relying on donated supplies and volunteer workers, but there are some materials we will need to purchase for this project. Please make checks out to the Portola PTSA and write Green Portola Project in the subject line. You can also donate on-line by visiting http://portolanews.wordpress.com/.
