Support the students and teachers at Portola Middle School by helping to preserve the Writer Coach Connection program! This program matches trained community volunteers with public-school students to bring one-on-one support, helping students to become clear and confident writers. GoPortola’s own Bobbie Dowling is a writer coach and says, “As a writer coach, I gave my writer my undivided attention for 30-45 minutes a week. I met him right where he was with his skills and we worked on questions hehad. Week after week I saw his trust, accountability, and confidence build up. I can’t think of a better formula for success.” Any donation, large or small, ensures that our students will continue to receive the one-on-one attention that they deserve. We need to raise $10,000 to return our writer coaches to Portola classrooms for 2012-13 and we’re already 7% of the way there after the first week. But we have a long way to go and we need you to help us get to the finish line!
